One vote on trans athletes cracked Democratic unity wide open

House Democrats are beginning to see fractures in their party, and one such break just handed the GOP a cultural win.

The left is generally portrayed as a party being taken over by the fringe, but somehow maintaining unity despite the radical pull. While the Republican Party welcomes several schools of thought, Democratic purity tests have resulted in leftists being forced to adopt the same mindset as the loudest people in the party or be effectively cast out like California state Senator Scott Weiner.

Now, it would seem that the Democratic Party monolith has taken some hits after five members voted with Republicans to crack down on transgender students’ sports participation.

The House voted on a slew of amendments to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) on Tuesday, an annual bill setting military and national security policy each fiscal year.

Among those that prevailed was an amendment led by Rep. Nancy Mace, R-S.C., to block students born male from participating on girls’ athletic teams at schools run by the Department of War (DOW).

The vast majority of Democrats — 203 of them — voted to allow transgender participation, save for Reps. Henry Cuellar, D-Texas, Shomari Figures, D-Ala., Don Davis, D-N.C., Vicente Gonzalez, D-Texas, and Terri Sewell, D-Ala.

This means the amendment was adopted in a 221-to-203 vote where all Republicans voted in favor. Meanwhile, the four senior House Democratic Party members voted against it, including Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries.

“Men are not women. Men will never become women. Yet male athletes are stealing medals, invading locker rooms and putting girls in the hospital, all in the name of gender ideology. Our NDAA amendment would end this nonsense,” Mace said on Tuesday.

Cuellar can be a real one. Back in 2016 he didn’t mind telling the truth about how Obama had started the kids in cages/family separation stuff when the dumbass Dems were running with that lie. It’s important to not forget how fucking stupid and biased the average Dem voter is.
