Principal FUMES when boys tear down tampon dispenser 20 min after it was installed in their bathroom

A Connecticut high school had a state-mandated tampon dispenser in a boys’ bathroom ripped off the wall a whopping 20 minutes after it was installed, enraging the principal.

A new state law mandates that every school must provide free menstrual products in women’s restrooms, all-gender restrooms, and at least one men’s bathroom.

“A dispenser with menstrual products was installed in the boys’ bathroom near the (main office),” Brookfield High School Principal Marc Balanda angrily wrote in an email sent out to students and their families on January 24. “The installation was completed at 9:30 (a.m.). By 9:52 (a.m.), tampons were on the floor, the newly installed distribution box was ripped off the wall along with the masonry anchors, and the distribution box itself was destroyed.”

He called the action “disgusting” and an “egregious instance of vandalism and destruction of property” in the email he sent out with a subject line that read “I am feeling ‘dis-’ right now.”

“I am aware that the law says ‘men’s bathroom’ but the actions today that led to vandalism and destruction of property were the work of immature boys, not men,” Balanda vented, according to CT Insider, which got a hold of a copy of the email.

“Ask for more information. Use your words to start a dialogue rather than using your hands to destroy something. In this particular instance, if you have questions, please let me know,” the principal further admonished in the email.

The principal stated that there had been other incidents of vandalism in recent weeks in boys’ bathrooms. They included tearing out soap dispensers and stuffing items down the toilets. But the tampon dispenser placed in the bathroom for transgender and intersex individuals seemed to be the last straw for the principal.

“Having open dialogue in the school community can help everyone understand the law, ensure a school environment where everyone is respected, and all students are supported,” state Department of Education spokesperson Matthew Cerrone told the New York Post in an interview.

State officials are unaware of this happening anywhere else according to the media outlet.

Brookfield Schools Superintendent John Barile stated that the vandalism had been addressed concerning the student who was involved but did not provide any details.

“Police were not called over the incident because ‘law enforcement is typically not involved in situations of vandalism/destruction of property unless the act rises to a much higher level of property destruction,’ Barile said, adding tampon dispensers have been vandalized in the girls’ bathrooms in past years,” the New York Post wrote.

The incident was mocked by conservatives including Fox News’ Greg Gutfeld.

“Ridgefield resident Alex Harris, who is on Ridgefield CT Pride’s advisory board, told the outlet ‘This sad incident is a perfect teaching opportunity’ for the school. ‘Schools are charged with imparting knowledge and understanding of reality to our youth,’ Harris said. ‘Menstruation and trans- or nonbinary people are simple facts of reality that threaten no one,'” the New York Post reported.
