Radical Minnesota Democrat Ilhan Omar is getting more corporate media facetime after Laureen Boebert’s ill-advised and offensive backpack joke.

CNN’s Jake Tapper, often known for his faux outrage against Republicans and pushing the Russiagate hoax, gave U.S. Rep. Omar a platform on his ratings-challenged show on a network hardly anyone watches anymore to bash the Colorado congresswoman, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), and the GOP in general over the “shocking” and “purely bigoted” remark.

Tapper tossed a softball to Omar by asking her what it’s like to hear blatant bigotry from another lawmaker.

“It’s shocking and unacceptable, and, you know, it’s very unbecoming of a congresswoman to use that kind of derogatory, dangerous, inciting language against a colleague,” the Minneapolis-area congresswoman declared.

She also claimed that when she was first elected to Congress, she received congratulatory calls from all over the world “because they thought that America was passed its sort of post-9/11 Islamophobia.”

“To see this happen right now in the halls of Congress, really is damaging, not just to the Muslim community, to myself, but to the kind of country we want to be.”

Tapper then lamented that McCarthy has yet to condemn Boebert’s remarks and played a soundbite during which the would-be House Speaker noted that Boebert has already publicly and personally apologized to Omar.

“McCarthy is a liar and a coward,” Omar responded, using some derogatory language of her own. “He doesn’t have the ability to condemn the kind of bigoted Islamaphobia and anti-Muslim rhetoric that are being trafficked by a member of his conference.”

McCarthy has also faced criticism from his own caucus for a lack of leadership for among things allowing Never Trumpers Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger to join the politicized J6 committee plus his inability to stop 13 House Republicans from voting with the Democrats for Biden’s massive infrastructure spending package.

When Tapper asked why lacks the condemnatory ability, Omar claimed that “this is who they are. And we have to be able to stand up to them, and we have to push them to reckon with the fact that their party, right now, is normalizing anti-Muslim bigotry…”

Omar added that “people across the world, not just in the United States, are seeing this and they are worried. As you know, Islamaphobia is on the rise, and as many people have reached out to me about my safety, I remind them that this isn’t about me, this is about the young girls across this country who wear the hijab so proudly, who are afraid for their lives.”

“It’s deplorable,” Tapper remarked, using a familiar term.

Tapper also didn’t like that Boebert doubled down on social media after describing her phone-call apology that, in the end, didn’t go so well.

“She kept asking for a public apology, so I told Ilhan Omar that she should make a public apology to the American people for her anti-American, anti-Semitic, anti-police rhetoric,” Boebert said on Instagram.

As BPR has previously noted, it is an sad situation that politicians on both sides of the aisle routinely get death threats that can be terrifying and should be taken seriously. Most of these presumably are from trolls, hoaxers, and other offenders who hopefully don’t actually intend to carry out physical violence, but obviously, they deserve to be investigated to make sure. Threats should never be minimized under any circumstances.

Neither Tapper nor Omar addressed incendiary remarks that regularly flow from Democrat elected officials, however.

Last week, for example, Omar’s Squad ally Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, claimed on Twtter, without evidence, that McCarthy is supposedly trying to ingratiate himself with a mythical “Ku Klux Klan” GOP caucus over the Boebert controversy.

In so doing, the New York Democrat ignored that Democrat Party’s historic links to the Ku Klux Klan, segregation, and Jim Crow laws. AOC was reacting

Attached to AOC’s tweet was a video clip of U.S. Rep. Omar playing a profane voicemail death threat that she says she received several hours after a contentious telephone conversation with U.S. Rep. Boebert

Here is U.S. Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), a conservative firebrand and first-term federal lawmaker like Boebert, playing a selection of threats that she has received (*warning for language):

During the interview, Omar also expressed confidence that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi will sanction Boebert which could include stripping her of committee assignments and putting a vote of censure on the agenda.

The Tapper/Oma duo is getting a lot of Twitter applause, but not from everyone. Here is just a sampling:
