Former Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, a Democrat, has an ultimatum for President Joe Biden.

Speaking on Fox News’ “Fox News Primetime” this Friday, she told host Brian Kilmeade that if Biden truly desires “unity,” he must denounce the left’s growing radicalism.

More specifically, Biden must denounce House Intelligence Committee chair Adam Schiff and disgraced former CIA Director John Brennan’s call for new domestic terror laws to be instituted and then applied against ostensible “domestic terrorists.”

Listen to her remarks below:

Earlier in the week, Brennan spoke on MSNBC about how his apparent allies within the Biden administration have begun “moving in laser-like fashion to try to uncover as much as they can about what” he went on to describe as an “insurgency” movement.

This “insurgency” movement, he added, is comprised of “an unholy alliance frequently of religious extremists, authoritarians, fascists, bigots, racists, Nativists, even libertarians.”

Schiff meanwhile is back in the spotlight because of the Confronting Threats of Domestic Terrorism Act, H.R. 4192, a bill he introduced two years ago that the Biden administration is now reportedly mulling pursuing.

“It’s so dangerous,” Gabbard said Friday of the growing movement by figures on the left to target ostensible “domestic terrorists.”

Her concern is this: What constitutes a so-called “domestic terrorist.”

“What characteristics are we looking for as we are building this profile of a potential extremist? What are we talking about? Religious extremists? Are we talking about Christians, evangelical Christians? What is a religious extremist? Is it somebody who is pro-life? Where do you take this?” she said.

Her point — one that’s been echoed by a number of prominent conservative commentators in recent days — is that there’s a strong likelihood that the left would employ the powers they’d obtain from a new domestic law to target people who simply think differently. I.e., they’d use their power to persecute non-establishment voices.

The evidence that they’d pursue such Orwellian behavior lies in their history of labeling everybody to the right of Karl Marx an “extremist,” a “white supremacist,” a “fascist” or even a Nazi.

“You start looking at obviously, have to be a white person, obviously likely male, libertarians, anyone who loves freedom, liberty, maybe has an American flag outside their house, or people who, you know, attended a Trump rally… A targeting of almost half the country,” Gabbard added.

The irony, she contained, is that these efforts by Democrats and allegedly the Biden administration contradict what Biden said in his Inauguration Day speech.

“This whole effort, whether you’re talking about the bill, or people saying we have to deprogram these Trump cultists and people who voted for Trump because they’ve been radicalized, all of this just goes to further tear our country apart. And it moves towards the thing that Joe Biden said in his inauguration speech that shouldn’t happen, which is a dehumanization of your opponent,” she explained.

That’s why Biden must immediately “denounce people like John Brennan and their statements, bills like the one Adam Schiff put forward and truly speak to the American people about how we must them together around the Constitution and around our Bill of Rights, around these rights that have been endowed to us by our creator.”

Rights that everybody else on the left — save perhaps Biden, assuming he meant what he said during the inauguration — are seeking to essentially eliminate.

Schiff’s domestic terror bill in particular is so Orwellian that even the infamous squad opposes it:

So do 135 civil rights groups that signed an open letter to Congress this week voicing their strong opposition to such new laws.

Granted, their reason for opposing such laws is because they’re worried that the laws would be used to persecute “black and brown” communities vs Christians and conservatives. Still.

“Congress should not enact any laws creating a new crime of domestic terrorism … or any other new charges or sentencing enhancements expected to be introduced in the 117th Congress ‘to penalize acts of domestic terrorism,'” they wrote.

“These bills and others with similar provisions are the wrong approach because, as we have seen, they will continue to be used as vehicles to target Black and Brown communities as they have done since their inception.”

Despite the right and left’s differing motivations for their opposition to any new domestic terror laws, journalist Glenn Greenwald believes the fact that they’re in any agreement at all given the political climate is “political ecstasy.”

Perhaps he’s right.
