No olive branches – Steve Hilton warns Biden’s picks for potential admin are swamp creatures

There are reports that should Joe Biden actually become president, he will nominate Antony Blinken, his top foreign-policy campaign adviser, to serve as his secretary of state.

This development is coming against the backdrop of former CIA director and Defense Secretary Robert Gates writing in his memoir of Biden, “He has been wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades.”

In the ongoing quest to act presidential while President Trump pursues legal options to contest an election the president claims was marred by fraud, Biden is expected to announce cabinet appointments on Tuesday, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Blinken, who has had close ties to Biden for nearly two decades, is expected to be among those picks, according to the paper — Blinken was Biden’s national security adviser when he was vice president, before being promoted by President Obama to deputy secretary of state.

The Journal described Blinken as a “centrist on foreign policy,” quoting him saying that dealing with the pandemic is the “first thing” that must be done.

“There is an urgent leadership requirement internationally with regard to COVID-19. The first thing we have to do is deal with, domestically as well as internationally, is working to get out from under the COVID-19 rock,” he said.

The expected pick has a very swampy feel to it, and Fox News’ Steve Hilton noted on Sunday in the opening monologue of The Next Revolution that Biden’s White House staff choices are the definition of corruption in politics.

Hilton said that for the establishment, globalism is preferred over Trump’s America First policy.

“Underpinning this entire elitist establishment is the swamp,” Hilton explained. “The swamp is what makes it all work, big business in bed with big government — the revolving door between the two; lobbying, influence peddling, wining and dining. You could call it structural corruption and ever since he got into the presidential race we’ve been telling you that Joe Biden is the swamp.”

He said that Biden’s “so-called transition team is crawling with swamp lobbyists and corporate cronies from big tech and big business,” sharing details of “Biden’s scheme to bring the swamp directly into the White House at the highest level.”

The Fox News host shared that Biden plans to appoint Steve Ricchetti, who served as Biden’s chief of state as vice president, as counselor to the president.

“He is a living breathing example of everything that is corrupt and broken in our government,” Hilton said. “It is so disgusting that even fellow Democrats wanted to stop a fight in bringing him in, even [Sen.] Elizabeth Warren warns against him.”

Hilton said Ricchetti was involved in passing NAFTA and “led the charge” in getting China admitted to the World Trade Organization.

“That deal probably the single most destructive act of economic self-harm in American history,” he noted.

On and on Hilton went, detailing Ricchetti’s vast business dealings over the years and his connections with the government, and his ties to China.

He noted that Biden will roll back on day one President Trump’s reoriented western policy toward China just as America is finally standing up to them.

Hilton also warned the right that corporate America is not on their side.

“Conservatives need to wake up,” he said. “Corporate America is not your friend. Just since the election, not just Facebook and Twitter, but big business, including Air B&B, PayPal and Target have attacked conservatives. Corporate America looks down on you, corporate America sensors you, corporate America hates you.”

And they want to put “their stooge,” Steve Ricchetti, “a corrupt swamp lobbyist,” in the White House, Hilton warned.

“He is a symbol of everything that is wrong with our system,” he said in closing. “His presence in the White House would be a stain on our democracy — it would be wrong and unacceptable and we must not let it happen. We must stop the Biden swamp.”
