Several Fox News personalities made a big stink Wednesday when former House Speaker Newt Gingrich dared to evoke George Soros.

While discussing a bombshell new report about how the damage incurred from just the initial phase of the George Floyd riots will cost insurance companies in excess of $1 billion, Gingrich argued that the blame rests in part on Democrat prosecutors.

“The number one problem in almost all these cities is George Soros’ elected, left-wing, anti-police, pro-criminal district attorneys who refuse to keep people locked up. Just yesterday they put so many back on the street,” he said.

“Progressive district attorneys are anti-police, pro-criminal and overwhelmingly elected with George Soros’ money, and they’re a major cause of the violence we’re seeing because they keep putting the violent criminals back on to the streets.”

Now observe how the hosts of Fox News’ “Outnumbered Overtime” reacted:

I’m not sure we need to bring George Soros into this,” co-host Melissa Francis could be heard complaining in the background.

He paid for it. He paid for it. Why can’t we discuss the fact that …,” Gingrich tried replying before he was cut off by former Obama State Department spokesperson Marie Harf, a woman known for habitually distorting the truth.

No, he didn’t. I agree with Melissa. George Soros doesn’t need to be a part of this conversation,” she said.

The segment concluded with Gingrich asking, “OK … so it’s verboten?

Apparently so, because clearly the facts don’t seem to matter at FNC. Or at least not on Fox News’ “Outnumbered Overtime.” The same cannot be said of FoxNews.com.

Case in point:

**Update: FNC’s “Outnumbered host Harris Faulkner addressed the controversy that erupted after the awkward segment on Thursday.

“Our guest former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, who is beloved, and needed to be able to speak with openness and respect that this show is all about was interrupted.”

Stating that the show often debates with ‘fire’ it wants to provide guests with the opportunity to speak and express themselves and the segment didn’t go ideally.

“I especially, want to rock and roll with every voice and perspective, Faulkner said. “We don’t censor. And that’s why we’re winning weekdays at noon.”

Published in late July, the FoxNews.com piece above noted that district attorneys “whose campaigns benefited from the work of left-wing organizations – including ones backed by liberal billionaire George Soros – are now pushing for new practices that could see sharp reductions in prosecutions and incarcerations.”

Soros, through the Justice & Public Safety PAC and other groups, has been spending millions of dollars on prosecutorial races in recent years, with a number of beneficiaries making headlines since their elections.”

So to recap, the piece confirmed that Soros has been “spending millions of dollars” propping up prosecutors who are interested in going light on criminals.

Prosecutors like Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx, a Soros-backed prosecutor who failed to prosecute more than 25,000 felony cases this summer, spurring the head of the Chicago police union to plead for help from federal authorities:

Isn’t this an example of exactly what Gingrich had said?

Numerous additional examples exist.

Look:

These aren’t figments of someone’s imagination. They’re legitimate news reports. Countless more documenting Soros’ shady influence on America’s elections exist.

So why is mentioning his influence “verboten” on Fox News? Likely because of disingenuous, left-wing-manufactured concerns about antisemitism.

For years, the same liberal Democrats who have disparaged Israel nonstop, ironically enough, have alleged that speaking truths about Soros counts as antisemitism:

Like one 2018 headline from The New York Times reads, “How Vilification of George Soros Moved From the Fringes to the Mainstream.”

Yet this is the same radically far-left paper known for publishing antisemitic cartoons, arguing Jesus wasn’t a Jew, and marking Jewish lawmakers with a virtual “Star of David.”

Likewise, Soros defender Marie Harf is a woman infamous for defending former President Barack Hussein Obama’s failed Iran nuclear deal, despite the deal being a veritable slap in the face to the Jews of Israel.

Yet as seen in the clip up top, the primary host of “Outnumbered Overtime,” Harris Faulkner, offered no pushback to Harf or Francis. It wasn’t a good look for such an otherwise well-respected journalist …
