In response to the Trump administration’s plans to round up over 2,000 illegal aliens nationwide on Sunday, a number of Democrat officials throughout the country have vowed to place the interests of these illegal alien lawbreakers over the interests of their own constituents.
“We are all aware of the threat from President Trump regarding raids by ICE, and in response, Chicago has taken concrete steps to support our immigrant communities,” one such democrat official, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot, said in a Twitter statement early Friday evening.

Her statement was posted shortly after acting U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Director Mark Morgan announced on ABC News that, on Sunday the agency intends to arrest over 2,000 illegal aliens who’ve ignored their deportation orders so as to send a message to members of the illegal alien community that their lawlessness will not be tolerated.
“This is not about fear,” he said. “No one is instilling fear in anyone. This is about the rule of law and maintaining the integrity of the system.”

In response to this announcement, dozens of local and state Democrat officials rushed to their microphones to issue statements in defense of illegal aliens. Included among them were New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio.
“We will fight back at every turn to protect our immigrant families,” Cuomo reportedly vowed in a defiant statement. “New York will continue to be the beacon of inclusion and diversity that the nation and the world looks to.”
“New Yorkers won’t be divided by a sick plot to tear families apart and force immigrants into the shadows,” de Blasio fumed in a tweet. “We KNOW our city is stronger, safer and more prosperous than ever BECAUSE of our immigrant communities.”
Actually, an immigration sweep last month by ICE authorities uncovered more than 26 illegal aliens with criminal convictions for everything from criminal tampering to criminal possession of stolen property, identity theft and attempted assault. A similar raid in January uncovered 107 illegal aliens with convictions for everything from weapons charges to child sex crimes.

Democrat leaders in California have followed suit.
“Los Angeles will always stand with our immigrant brothers and sisters, and our law enforcement officers will never participate in these actions,” Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti reportedly said in a statement. “No Angeleno should ever have to fear being snatched from their home or separated from their loved ones — and we are doing everything we can to provide immigrant families with the information and support they need.”
Gov. Gavin Newsom concurred, reportedly saying, “California is a place of refuge – that includes our schools, our courts and our hospitals and clinics. We hold certain institutions sacred and people should continue to access programs and services they need.”
In reality, California is a hotbed for illegal alien crime, thanks in large part to the Democrat-led state’s lax laws. These laws have been blamed for the murders of numerous locals, including Bambi Larson, a 59-year-old mother of two; and Newman Police Department Cpl. Ronil Singh, the 33-year-old father of a newborn son.
Over in Washington, D.C., meanwhile, Mayor Muriel Bowser announced via Twitter that her crime-ridden city “remains a proud sanctuary city, and we are committed to protecting the rights of all our immigrant families in the face of these disturbing threats.”
The President should understand that not only are these threats cruel and antithetical to our American values, they are actually making our communities less safe by sending more residents into hiding, cut off from resources, support, and opportunity.

Even some police officers have joined this bizarre pro-criminal bandwagon.
“It instills fear,” Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo reportedly said. “We rely on the cooperation of that population to keep all Americans safe, all residents safe, and all members of society safe. … When you say you’re going to go arrest millions of people, that has a chilling effect on the cooperation.”
His statement was in regards specifically to a tweet President Donald Trump posted announcing that ICE plans to begin “removing the millions of illegal aliens who have illicitly found their way into the United States.”

While it’s unclear why Democrats are so defensive of the illegal alien community, at least one Angel parent has warned that everybody will one day become a victim of illegal alien crime unless something changes soon.
“What the American people don’t understand is that it’s going to happen to them or to somebody they know, at this point with so many people coming across our border,” Steve Ronnebeck, an Angel father whose son was murdered by an illegal alien in 2015, said during a press conference this week.

Not to say every illegal is a murderer, but enough of them are murderers, rapists and child molesters that we can’t just let them in all willy nilly. I mean this with the utmost sincerity and seriousness when I say, in the words of George Constanza, “We’re living in a society!”
