‘Fox & Friends’ scrambles to apologize after showing graphic saying Ruth Bader Ginsburg is dead — she’s not!

With Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg recovering from surgery to treat early-stage lung cancer, the left has been very touchy about the prospect of the high court’s most liberal justice being replaced by President Donald Trump.

And liberals were sent clutching their pearl-set “dissent necklaces” on Monday after “Fox & Friends” accidentally displayed a graphic showing that Justice Ginsburg was dead.

Faulting a control room error, the show’s hosts apologized for a graphic that showed a photo of Ginsburg, along with the dates “1933-2019.”

“We need to apologize … A technical error in the control room triggered a graphic of RBG with a date on it,” co-host Steve Doocy would later say. “We don’t want to make it seem anything other than that was a mistake. That was an accident.”

“We apologize, big mistake,” co-host Ainsley Earhardt added.

The network later released a statement saying, “This was a technical error that emanated from the graphics team.”

After having surgery in late December, Ginsburg, 85, has missed oral arguments this month for the first time in over 25 years she has been on the bench.

She is reportedly working from home following the removal of cancerous nodules from her lung — the Supreme Court announced on January 11 there is no evidence of remaining cancer.

The Santa Monica Observer reported last week that Ginsburg has been stricken with pneumonia and is currently fighting for her life, saying the “elderly judge appears to be nearing the end of her life.”

The newspaper was the first to report that the liberal justice has lung cancer.

More from The Observer:

Justice Ginsburg today cancelled a public appearance set for January 29, 2019, as she remains in a hospital fighting Pneumonia. The elderly judge appears to be nearing the end of her life, as the Trump administration asks allies for suggestions to replace her.

[…]

Following surgery, she has developed complications including pneumonia. Pneumonia often afflicts elderly post surgery patients in the US, since antibiotics have resulted in Multi Resistant Strains of the lung infection.

No major media source is reporting that Ginsburg has been hospitalized and the left is adamant that she is now cancer-free and in good health.

The Los Angeles venue did announce last week on Twitter that the event featuring the  justice has been cancelled.

A recent op-ed run in The Daily Caller from physician Brian Joondeph about how the media is furiously spinning the state of Ginsburg’s health, noted a history of pancreas and colon cancer to raise the question if she was really dealing with “early-stage lung cancer,” as reported.

Joondeph wrote that if the cancer in her lung spread from her previous cancer, then “it was metastatic cancer, meaning stage four and quite advanced.”

He also had a possible explanation for the statement declaring she was cancer free.

“No evidence of remaining disease” could simply mean that they removed the two cancerous nodules they found on a lung scan after her recent fall. If these nodules represent cancer that spread from her previous colon or pancreas cancer, the doctors removed what they found in her lungs.

This doesn’t speak for cancer that might have spread to her liver, brain or bones.

“No further treatment is required” might imply that she is cancer free. It could also suggest the opposite, that she has metastatic cancer that is no longer treatable, other than hospice care, and that further treatment is futile at this point, hence not required.
