More than 300 criminal aliens reportedly crossed into the United States last week by burrowing underneath a flimsy fence in Arizona — one significantly smaller and less impermeable than the steel slat walls that President Donald Trump seeks to erect across the border.
This startling revelation was unveiled by MSNBC, which over the weekend obtained surveillance footage from the border and also spoke directly with U.S. Border Patrol agents.
“In this nighttime video from the Border Patrol, you can see a bus in Mexico dropping off dozens of migrants — and then they simply walk across the remote stretch of the Arizona border marked only by a small fence,” the left-wing news purveyor reported Saturday.

“I think you can ask any Border Patrol agent here that’s been around from one year to 30 years as myself, and they’ll tell you that this is a crisis,” one agent with whom MSNBC spoke said.
His remarks weren’t surprising, given that what he said were known facts. There is indeed a crisis at the border, and everybody save for the most stubborn Democrats and media pundits have admitted as much, including apparently even the far-leftists at MSNBC.
“We see large groups of family units and unaccompanied children, and it’s created this backlog in the immigration system,” the Border Patrol agent added.
On Saturday the president unveiled a grand compromise that, if approved, would resolve most of these problems. The deal would appropriate, $5.7 billion to construct a wall along the most vulnerable sections of the border, $782 million to hire additional Border Patrol agents and $563 million to expand the immigration court system and reduce the growing backlog.
Listen to portions of his grand compromise speech below:
The Democrats have already rejected the deal. In fact, some congressional leaders prematurely rejected it by issuing statements in opposition to the deal before Trump even spoke Saturday afternoon.
According to the far-left, there is no crisis on the border. Their “evidence” is the fact that apprehensions at the border have plummeted. But as noted by MSNBC, surprisingly enough, this “evidence” neglects counter-evidence showing that while apprehensions of single men have declined, apprehensions of family units have increased.
“Jeffrey Self is the acting chief of the Border Patrol in Tucson. He says the crisis is humanitarian because although the overall numbers are lower, his agents are seeing more families from Central America. He says they take longer to process,” the network reported.
Speaking with CBS News last month, U.S. Customs and Border Protection commissioner Kevin McAleenan made the same point.
“I’ve explained to Congress… that what we’re seeing with these flows, of huge numbers of families with lots of children, young children, as well as unaccompanied minors coming into Border Patrol custody after crossing the border unlawfully, that our stations are not built for that group that’s crossing today,” he said.
“They were built 30 to 40 years ago for single adult males, and we need a different approach,” McAleenan continued. “We need help from Congress. We need to budget for medical care and mental health care for children in our facilities.”
Listen:
It’s a plea that’s been ignored by Democrats, who prefer to hold the government hostage rather than negotiate with the president toward a solution that would secure the borders while also providing reinforcements and support to the government’s struggling security agencies.
What’s unclear is why Democrats keep obstructing. The president suspects it’s because they’re “petrified” of the radical elements of their base:
Nancy Pelosi has behaved so irrationally & has gone so far to the left that she has now officially become a Radical Democrat. She is so petrified of the “lefties” in her party that she has lost control…And by the way, clean up the streets in San Francisco, they are disgusting!

How radical is the Democrat base? Just take a look at the unhinged — and sometimes outright disgusting — replies that members of the base posted on Twitter in response to MSNBC’s legitimate report.

Dear Nancy Pelosi: This batch of rude, immature and grossly misinformed zealots is your base. Are you proud?
