Trump announces US will cut off foreign aid to Central America as punishment for illegal caravan

Staying true to his word, President Donald Trump announced Monday that the U.S. will “begin cutting off, or substantially reducing, the massive foreign aid routinely given to” Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador.

With an invading caravan of thousands of Central American “migrants” that grows by the day having succeeded in forcing its way into Mexico, Trump announced the policy decision via Twitter

“Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador were not able to do the job of stopping people from leaving their country and coming illegally to the U.S. We will now begin cutting off, or substantially reducing, the massive foreign aid routinely given to them,” he tweeted.

The ramification was made clear to Honduras last week, as the president warned in a tweet on Tuesday.

The numbers continue to grow, with “Fox & Friends” Steve Doocy noting Monday morning that it may total 7,000 or more, and could be 20,000 strong by the time it reaches the southern border.

While the liberal media sympathizes with the small army of illegal immigrants marching on the U.S., Trump correctly sees it as the crisis it is.

Showing little faith in Mexico’s left-wing president taking any effective action, the president said he alerted Border Patrol and the U.S. military that the approaching caravan is a national emergency.

And AGAIN, he called on Congress to change our failed immigration laws.

“Sadly, it looks like Mexico’s Police and Military are unable to stop the Caravan heading to the Southern Border of the United States,” Trump tweeted. “Criminals and unknown Middle Easterners are mixed in. I have alerted Border Patrol and Military that this is a National Emergy. Must change laws!”

Department of Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen said in a statement  Sunday that criminal elements — see drug cartels — could prey on the migrants, according to the Washington Times.

“While we closely monitor the caravan crisis,” Nielson explained, “we must remain mindful of the transnational criminal organizations and other criminals that prey on the vulnerabilities of those undertaking the irregular migration journey.”
