The war is on between the mainstream media and Donald Trump.
The Republican presidential candidate gathered the press together at the new Trump International Hotel on Friday to hear him address the issue of whether he believes President Obama was born in the U.S. or not.
What they got instead was an hour of Trump endorsements from retired military brass, including generals and admirals and a gold star wife. The cable news channels covered it from start to finish.
Immediately after the event, the anchors at CNN were seething and yelled over each other to deride Trump for tricking them, even though Trump did admit he believes the president was born in America.
CNN’s Jake Tapper called it “a political rick-roll.”
John King lamented “we (the media) got played by the Trump campaign.”
It was just as volatile on social media and even Hillary Clinton got in on the whining.

As an apparent act of revenge, reporters destroyed footage of Trump giving them a tour of his new D.C. hotel so that no one can ever see it.
